Built by designer-builder Kipp Stewart and later owned by 20th-century architect Philip Johnson and his partner David Whitney.
This cabin was an incredible opportunity for Studio Schicketanz to honor its many lives, including a Mattia Bonetti-designed living room. The studio made very careful interventions, updating the lighting, the kitchen, and the bathroom, and introducing an earth-tone palette and very simple linens for the comfortable, informal interior.
A complementary mix of the current clients’ stunning art, mid-century accent pieces, and locally-produced ceramics make for a playful and relaxing weekend home, steeped in history.
