A warm color palette is juxtaposed against the crystalline blue of the neighboring Pacific ocean in this coastal house, with architecture and interiors woven together into a seamless, materially-rich project that explores the relationship between inside and outside, view and refuge, prospect and shelter. Stone walls offer a deep textural materiality while swaths of glass draw the eye out over the stunning view; on the interior, the owner’s careful art collection works in counterpoint with custom-designed furnishings and accoutrements to create a visually lively–yet relaxing–space.
